WE LOVE TO GIVE
BAKERY TOURS!Most of our tours are set up as school field trips,
including groups of home schoolers. We generally schedule tours
on Wednesday mornings at 10 AM - the morning time allows participants to enjoy
watching the actual bread-making process during the tour.
We are also able to offer tours at 10 AM on Thursday mornings from Nov through
April (when Farmer's Market not in season).
(Afternoon tours, such as for Girl Scout troops, are also possible, though they
miss out on watching the actual bread production.)
During our tours, children get to learn how we turn a grain of wheat into
flour, gather around the big bowls where the bread is mixed, learn about the
ingredients in bread, learn about kneading, look inside the
big oven, and, of course, EAT some Great Harvest bread!

Tour group size is 12-25 children, ages
4 & up. Minimum # for a tour is 10. Due to space
limitations in the production area, large groups will be divided into
smaller groups of 12-13 people. Tours last approx 20-25 minutes.
(25 children = 2
tours = approx 50 min total). We encourage the presence of
parents & chaperones to supervise the children. |
